FREE Webinar: Combating HIV & HCV Co-Infection in Corrections

August 1 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Fighting HIV and HCV viruses

Made possible by an educational grant from Gilead Sciences to the NCCHC Foundation.

The intersection of HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) within the realm of correctional health care poses significant challenges and demands a targeted and comprehensive approach. Correctional facilities are often marked by a heightened prevalence of both infections, with up to 35% of incarcerated people in the United States affected by HCV and an increased likelihood of HIV compared to the general population. This webinar will discuss how to diagnose, treat, and prevent these diseases in a correctional setting. In addition, we will discuss the unique environment and how to encourage collaboration between health care providers. correctional staff, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care upon release.

Includes one hour of CE.
