American College of Correctional Physicians Raising Funds for Hunger Relief in Haitian Prisons
The ACCP Board of Directors has asked NCCHC to share information about a hunger crisis in the prisons of Haiti. The crisis has resulted in multiple deaths due to the country’s current political instability and community violence. ACCP Board Member John May, MD, CCHP, is on the Board of Health through Walls, an organization on the ground in Haiti providing health services and direct relief in the prisons. Donations can be made to Health Through Walls through the links below. https://www.gofundme.com/f/hunger-in-prisons-emergency-appeal-haiti www.healththroughwalls.org Several ACCP members have participated in volunteer work for this group and neither they nor Dr. May receive any compensation through this appeal. |
