The deadline is June 21.
Home Say hola to Puerto Rico
The 2024 Correctional Mental Health Care Conference will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, making it NCCHC’s first-ever Caribbean conference. In addition to a beautiful setting with an international flair, the conference offers more great education about corrections’ biggest challenges than ever before.
The two-day event takes place July 21-22 at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Resort, with an optional preconference seminar on July 20. A total of 17 CE hours is available; 13.5 if not attending the preconference seminar.
Puerto Rico is part of the United States, making travel easy. No passports are needed for U.S. residents. There are more than 120 nonstop flights daily from major U.S. cities; no currency conversion or international cell phone plans are needed; and English and Spanish are spoken widely across the island.
Hundreds of correctional mental health professionals are expected to attend. Topics to be discussed include substance abuse, MAT/MOUD, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, self-care, reentry, legal issues, and more, with a variety of perspectives from an expert roster of speakers. Time for networking and browsing exhibitors’ products and services is built in.
Saturday, July 20, features an optional half-day preconference seminar on NCCHC’s Standards for Mental Health Services in Correctional Facilities, the perfect review for the CCHP-MH (mental health) exam that will be offered, along with the CCHP basic exam, that afternoon (separate registration and fees apply for both).
Physician Correctional and Physician Correctional USA are the conference cohosts.
Registration is now open. For more information and to register, go to NCCHC.org/mental-health-conference.
