Journal of Correctional Health Care
The Journal of Correctional Health Care is the only national, peer-reviewed scientific journal to address correctional health care topics.
Published quarterly under the direction of editor John R. Miles, MPA, JCHC features original research, case studies, best practices, literature reviews and more to keep correctional health care professionals informed of important trends and developments. Topics addressed include clinical care, health services and support, personnel and staffing, ethical issues, medical records, quality improvement, risk management and medical-legal issues.
Special Issue: JCHC and Transgender Health are collaborating to produce a Special Issue on Transgender Health and Corrections. The Special Issue will highlight the complex interactions of incarceration, physical and mental health, and care for TGD individuals, as well as myriad challenges in the realms of both health services and custody. We welcome the submission of manuscripts exploring research, policies, practices, and ethical issues related to the health and health care of TGD individuals in jails and prisons.
