For facilities that do not have medical staff on-site 24/7, what is consider sufficient notification to medical when a youth is placed in segregation? Is an email sufficient, or does it need to be a phone call to the on-call staff?

Standard Y-E-09 Segregated Juveniles requires that when health staff are not on duty, a health staff member on-call is notified when a juvenile is being placed in segregation. In this case, an email is not sufficient notification; the on-call health staff member should be contacted directly.
