Dr. Leonora Muhammad Reelected to the CCHP Board of Trustees
Certified Correctional Health Professionals (CCHPs) have voted to reelect Leonora Muhammad, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, CCHP, to the CCHP Board of Trustees. She is the associate vice president of patient care services for Corizon Health and has been a correctional nurse for 15 years.
Her new three-year term begins on November 1. As a member of the board of trustees, she is part of a critical committee responsible for all aspects of governing the CCHP program, including examination content, scoring and evaluation, as well as awarding of CCHP and specialty certifications to successful candidates.
In her candidate statement, Dr. Muhammad spoke of her satisfaction in creating evidence-based exam questions and innovative strategies for testing and exam proctoring. She also stressed how the passion and commitment of CCHP candidates motivated her and the rest of the board.
After receiving news of her election, Dr. Muhammad stated, ”I am honored, motivated, and elated to continue to serve on the CCHP Board of Trustees because we have more critical work to do in terms of establishing the highest level of quality for our future CCHPs. Thank you to all that voted and are confident in my ability, experience, and expertise. We will ensure that the CCHP certification is the one to strive for."
