CE Webinar on Suicide Risk Management

Suicide remains a leading cause of death in jails and prisons across the country. This webinar reviews the literature on suicide in correctional settings and identifies the core principles of a comprehensive policy and process for managing risk for suicide. With astronomical rates of traumatic histories in populations of justice-involved individuals, appreciation of the impact of trauma is critical. Therefore, the speaker will also address the role of trauma in the assessment and management of suicide risk, and will place this topic within the framework of childhood adversity, which increases the risk of suicide attempts in adulthood.

Presented by Robin Timme, PsyD, ABPP, CCHP-MH, chief psychologist for Connections Community Support Programs, Inc., the webinar offers 1 hour of continuing education credit for physicians (ACCME), nurses (ANCC), psychologists (APA) and CCHPs. May 23, 2019, from 1 pm to 2 pm CDT.
