STD Screening and Treatment in Juvenile Corrections Webinar Available Online
Hundreds of correctional health professionals participated in an informational webinar on STD screening and treatment for juveniles in detention and confinement. Hosted by NCCHC on May 27, the webinar discussed the state of health care in juvenile corrections, the epidemiology of STDs among this population, recommendations for screening, the 2015 treatment guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, effective methods for overcoming barriers to testing and screening, and more.
The webinar was presented by Sherine Patterson-Rose, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, and Paula Braverman, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
