Pfizer Vaccine Approval Gives Health Care Professionals New Talking Points

The FDA has fully approved the Pfizer vaccine, which is a great opportunity to open a conversation back up with unvaccinated people who have been carefully considering the data and evidence. Three out of ten unvaccinated people have said that FDA approval would make them more likely to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Among unvaccinated Black and Latino people, those rates are even higher.

Key message points:

  • Approval reaffirms evidence showing that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and saving lives. More than 340,000 pages of research have been reviewed—all showing high levels of safety & effectiveness.
  • Nearly every person who is now hospitalized or dying due to COVID-19 is someone who has not yet been fully vaccinated.
  • After vaccinating +200M people (w/at least 1 dose) and nearly 1.5 years of tracking data, America’s leading scientists and health experts are confident in the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines.
  • It’s time to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Go to vaccines.gov to schedule an appointment near you.
