NCCHC Calls on President, Legislators to Support Adequate PPE for Corrections

NCCHC has received many inquiries regarding a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for correctional staff and inmates. A recent study completed with researchers from Harvard Kennedy School indicated that only 60% of respondents reported having adequate PPE. On April 6, CEO Deborah Ross, CCHP, and Board Chairman Robert Morris, MD, CCHP, highlighted the challenging environment for staff and inmates, the impact of COVID-19 on local communities and institutions and the need for federal, state and local leaders to consider jails and prisons.
