Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center Program Recognized by White House

A new report from the White House, Economic Costs of Youth Disadvantage and High-Return Opportunities for Change, recognizes a JTDC program that has demonstrated a 21% reduction in recidivism and a powerful cost–benefit ratio through evidence-based evaluation research conducted by the University of Chicago Crime Lab. The curriculum is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (see page 24 of the report). The program was also described in the Winter 2015 issue of CorrectCare.
